Each year, The Dhont Family Foundation funds a select group of filmmakers to create social-impact documentaries. After months of research, my team and I committed to telling Nikyle Begay's story - an eight minute short that delves into themes of self-discovery and cultural identity. Thank to you to The Dhont Family Foundation, Sally Rubin, and Nikyle for their continued support; we couldn't have done it without you.
PRODUCTION NOTES

Navajo Sheep are an extremely rare breed that require care and attention. It was a real privilege to work with Nikyle's flock and learn about their history.

Nikyle weaves Diné wool by hand - a tricky yet rewarding process to capture on film.

Ganado experienced light snow just before our team arrived, making for some gorgeous wide shots during production.

Indian Fair and Market - Phoenix, Arizona. A three day celebration of culture, heritage, and Native art that ties our third act together.
